There are three mills, or treatment centres, located at Dondon, Carice and Mont-Organisé. These will continue to handle almost all RECOCARNO's coffee (and some from local non-member producers, which provides important additional income) until the new central processing facility is constructed on the Plaine du Nord, near Cap-Haïtien. Conditions and facilities have been improved for the women who sort the coffee. The co-operative arrangements help both the coffee and the welfare of those who are key to its quality, which is instrumental in developing sales to the niche Fairtrade and gourmet markets.
